Frequently Asked Question
HiveBrite was selected as a platform based on its many features related to community building and engagement, and not for its website development capabilities. In fact, building comprehensive websites in HiveBrite would be highly inefficient, and would seem to discourage creation of the kinds of sites that would attract and retain visitors.
Most problematic is the lack of image and document gallery features. These were very well integrated in the current version of Encompass, such that, for our class (1964), the page editors could navigate a gallery of 2,773 images and select the ones they wanted quickly and easily, or add new that could be reused by themselves or others whenever needed.
HiveBrite also encourages use of their Block Editor, which has very limited features, and most importantly does not support many of the design aspects of the existing Encompass content.
HiveBrite does allow use of its "Classic Editor", which has most of the features of the Encompass editor, and supports pasting HTML then switching to display mode to see what it looks like.
We recommend using the Classic Editor exclusively - especially when migrating existing Encompass content.
