Frequently Asked Question
When an Encompass page is converted to HiveBrite, it is no longer accessible via [pgid] and instead has a HiveBrite URL. Rather than track down all the references and change them, the Webmaster should add a Redirect statement to the .htaccess file for mit1964.org.
The redirect looks like:
# PGID Redirect Entries Redirect 301 /1964/gid55/pgid2706 https://alumcommunity.mit.edu/topics/26627/page/reunion_giving-CE
Where the only two variables (for the Class of 1964) are "pgid2706", which would be the PDF file name for the page, and "reunion_giving-CE" which is the page name of the replacement HiveBrite page.
Note: We are using "-CE" after the page name to designate a HiveBrite page constructed using the Classic Editor. [DES 5-6-2024]
